The Amazon Libertarian Culture Center is the target of a fascist attack in Pará

On January 14th, in the early evening, a group of fascists/neo-Nazis carried out an attack at the end of an activity at the Centro de Cultura Libertária da Amazônia (CCLA) in the center of the city of Belém do Pará. Armed with fireworks, in a black car with license plates protected by cardboard, dropped bombs on our headquarters.

Carpet tacks spread in the police headquarters’ parking lot before a demonstration. More tacks dispersed at the local Amazon warehouse’s truck entrance. One valve stem cut on an Amazon truck’s tire. Two Amazon van tires slashed. Fiber optic cables cut where they hung low on three telephone poles in more affluent neighborhoods.

We generally prefer our actions to be just another strike amongst the many, adding to the already existent chorus of rage and discontent. As the crisis deepens and the feelings of isolation and helplessness appear to be sinking in, it is important to remember that one way of regaining agency in our lives is through attack and disruption.
