In Chicago, Rich became a political activist who demonstrated against the Vietnam War and marched at the 1968 DNC. Later, he was involved in organizing the Black Rose anarchist lecture series and magazine. An experienced backpacker and mountaineer, he traversed the glaciers of Baffin Island in his 30s and hiked the Grand Canyon in his 40s. He was an avid cyclist who commuted to work by bike for decades, rode 600 miles through France in his 60s, and continued biking long after his diagnosis.

Announcing a new anarchist journal from Bloomington, Indiana
The first issue can be found at InTension.noblogs.org
In Tension is a journal acting as a place for anarchist analysis, dialogue, and reflection on activity that extends beyond single subcultures, issues, and social groups. Intended for people beginning to learn what anarchists are fighting and creating as well as people who have identified with anarchism for decades, In Tension is a way for us to talk to each other and report actions, issues, and initiatives that are otherwise under- or un-reported. We are interested in promoting the practice of doing things for ourselves and connecting our struggles locally, regionally, and internationally. In Tension also functions as an archive of sorts, a way to foster collective remembering.

There is an ongoing discussion within the Anarchist Federation (AF) about gender balance in our media since the spring, when the issue dedicated to J. Hašek was published. The truth is that the majority of the texts published in our revues are by men, and men often play a central role in the texts themselves. We have therefore decided that in the future we will try to focus on this disproportion and eliminate it as much as possible. Furthermore, young queer people have expanded our ranks, and with their arrival, debates about the language we use have intensified.
Plastic in Utero: a journal of anti-civ anarchy reborn from the compost of wasteland modernity (PIU) is calling for submissions for the third issue!. This zine-journal is open to all who want to contribute to the discussion of the current shit-hole we exist in, which some call civilization, capitalism, colonialism, and patriarchy. Issue 3's topics will be religion, spirituality, symbolism, and related subjects (such as irreligion, nihilism, god(s), etc). However, contributors are encouraged to explore beyond these themes.

Plastic In Utero: A Journal of Anti-Civ Anarchy Reborn from the Compost of Wasteland Modernity* is calling for submissions for its first issue. This issue seeks to focus particularly on the notion of 'artificiality,' whatever that means to the author.
While Plastic In Utero does focus on an anti-civilization outlook, I would love to see it expanding to other circles, such as Individualist Anarchism, Nihilist Anarchy, anti-State Communism, etc etc.
