Global Solidarity: Against the States and the Militarization of the Planet

from CrimethInc.

A Video Presentation with Speakers from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia

With the Anti-Authoritarian Movement Athens and Nosotros EKX, we co-hosted a video presentation in which anarchist organizers from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia speak about how people are experiencing and resisting the invasion in each of those countries, and what solidarity could look like elsewhere around the world.

The enemy is here

via Attaque translated by Act for freedom now!

Our enemies are not the other exploited but the bosses and the state. We reject all nationalist and Common Front appeals, even if we recognize the horror of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. [...] We can only try to be on their side in fighting against the state and the bosses here. Last night we set fire to a BMW with diplomatic plates and an Aston Martin SUV on Edmond About street in the Parisian district of Passy. May the opposition to this imperialist invasion trigger a revolution all over the world!

SOLDIER! THE ENEMY IS IN MINSK, NOT KIEV!

Putin, with his imperialist ambitions, threatens to invade Ukraine. Lukashenko is ready to support his Kremlin master by sending Belarusian soldiers to war in another country. The attempts to pump patriotism into the Belarusian society, though passing, are very modest. Soldiers will have to die for the Russian tsar.

At the beginning of January it became known that Mikalai Dziadok was put in a punishment cell for three days on New Year’s Eve, and has been precautionary filed as “prone to suicide and self-mutilation” – for having cut his hands and stomach six years ago in a correctional institution. The anarchist already has seven out of ten possible preventive registrations. On 25 January the Supreme Court upheld Mikola’s sentence (five years in prison).

An overview of repressions against anarchists and antifascists in Belarus in 2021

From Anarchist Black Cross Belarus

ABC-Belarus countered unprecedented quantity of repressions in 2021. We cannot say that it was unexpected. We expected exactly this after 2020 protests. But such predictability doesnʼt make the burden of anti-repression activism easier.

An Interview with Belarus Anarchist Black Cross

It is essential that our revolutionary solidarity extend beyond borders and transcend the artificial East/West divide. The Belarusian anarchist and anti-fascist milieu, with its dozens of political prisoners (and likely more unknown to local support efforts) is in dire need of international solidarity.

Words against isolation

Received via email from Lukáš Borl

A benefit for persecuted anarchists in Belarus

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, a D.I.Y. book was published under the title “Words Against isolation or As Long As There Are Prisons, Let’s Write Letters”. There are two main reasons to create this publication. First is to motivate people to write to prisoners, while obtaining funds for anarchists imprisoned in so-called Belarus.

15 Years in the Fight – end of Food Not Bombs in Belarus

From pramen.io

Activists of the Food Not Bombs initiative decided today to temporarily suspend their activism due to the ongoing repression in the country. The initiative was engaged in solidarity with the homeless and people with economic problems throughout 2020 and 2021. At the height of the repression, in spite of threats of violence from the punishers, every weekend there was a place in the center of Minsk where you could get a free portion of hot food and warm clothes.

News from the prison called the Republic of Belarus, December 2021

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from ABC Belarus

On 2 December Gayane Akhtiyan, mother of an anarchist Roman Khalilov, became a suspect in a criminal case. The proceedings were instituted upon art. 342 (part 1) of the Criminal Code (organisation and preparation of activities grossly violating the public order, or active participation in them). Previously, on 26 November, the apartment of Gayane Akhtiyan in Polack was searched, she was detained and initially arrested for 10 days for ‘insubordination to police’. On 2 December she was transferred from Polack to Minsk, and on 12 December her status changed from a suspect to an accused, and detention prolonged as an arrest. This case is a precedental one, an example of pressure on activists who moved abroad through their relatives who stay in Belarus. Khalilov lives in Poland, in Belarus a criminal case is open against him since 2020

Position of ABC-Belarus on the situation with Dzmitry Dubovski

From Anarchist Black Cross Belarus

The day after the detention of the group of anarcho-partisans the propaganda trash cans posted a video in which Dzmitry Dubovski admits his guilt in attacking the regime and testifies against other members of the group. At the time, the relatively hasty publication of the news by the Lukashists, the serious accusations of terrorism, and Dubovski’s own lengthy involvement in the anarchist movement led us to question the truthfulness of the story about the anarchist who had begun cooperating with the investigation.

– regarding information about torture of anarcho-partisans

Today the sister of anarchist Dmitry Dubovsky published a short story after visiting the activist in the prison. The story is about the torture of the partizans in the first days after the detention: the pigs cut the skin off Igor Olynevich’s feet, Dubovsky was strangled with a plastic bag and hung up in a so called “swallow”. Previously, it was already reported that Sergei Romanov cut open his veins because of beatings by border guards.

Sasha Kozlyanko – soul and conscience of Brest anarchism

Sasha Kozlyanko – soul and conscience of Brest anarchism

From pramen.io

I met Alexander Kozlyanko in the summer of 2002, long before anarchism started to show its grin in Belarus. At that time Brest guys had their own group of friends in Kavala (well known residential area of Brest – Kovalyovka), to which I “joined”, being a frequent visitor in this nice western Belarusian city. I can say with confidence that that group, and Sasha in particular, were at the origins of Brest anarchism. While most of the guys, with whom we drank beer together, discussed music and books, played soccer, simply dissolved in the everyday life of Belarus, Sanya, overcoming subculture, remained in the movement. And he did not just stay in Belarussian anarchism, but, it seems to me, by undergoing a rapid evolution, became its important component.

from Anarchist Black Cross Belarus

The sentence was announced today for a group of anarcho-partisans who held a series of direct actions against the dictatorship about a year ago. In an attempt to isolate the activists, the trial was held in camera and only the pronouncement of the sentence was made public.
