Calling for the formation of anarchist nuclei in different cities of the world

From The Federation of Anarchism Era

Amid the revolution of the people of Iran and the struggle for freedom from the murderous regime of the Islamic Republic and all its western and eastern supporters, the re-emergence of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the growth of fascism, and Erdogan’s extremism in WANA, and other such cases; The Anarchists Union of Anarchists of Afghanistan and Iran, a self-organized member of the Federation of Anarchism Era, calls all anarchist comrades from all across the world to create anarchist nuclei to organize and attend widespread protests and demonstrations.

The Modern Urban Form as a Capitalist Construct

Understanding it as a specific structural process of capitalism and not a historical inevitability allows an exercise of counterfactual imagination in which we ask concerning urban form, if not the actual history of capitalism, then what can be imagined in its place? This exercise provides at every turn a grounded default projection, a human pattern with a wide application and a long history, rooted in the realities of human stride and stamina: not “anyone’s guess.” It is wholly baseless to assume as a default, absent specific design to the contrary, the persistence of the capitalist city in an anarchist future.

Anarchy and the 15-minute city

From Gods and Radicals by JERE KUZMANIĆ

The birth of an intimate relationship with the urban space

Is there a city where the anarchist feels good? Instead of debating with some big ideas on ideal anarchist cities, utopian federations of farms, factories and workshops, I opt to turn this text into one short opinion piece about something that we may miss in striving for radical social change. Often when talking about urban space, anarchists see only problems, materializations of capitalism and injustice, walls and fences, power asymmetries, and alienation. Anarchist authors, such as Thureau, Zisly or AbdelRahim, often advocate for a return to nature, to rural or even wild idyllic communes. Almost every visualization of anarchy in the foreground will have the cultivation of vegetables in some garden surrounded by greenery. And yet, the whole history of the modern anarchist movement took place mostly on the hot city asphalt, among the chimneys of factories and among the barricades on the boulevards.

Riotous Ecology

Fires, either intentional or from lightning, have been a component of many ecosystems for millennia. We know that prior to colonization on Turtle Island, controlled fires were used by many indigenous peoples to alter their habitats in favourable ways. It helped facilitate travel by eliminating thick underbrush, increased the numbers of game animals and helped nut trees be more productive, among many benefits. It was a subsistence tactic that had been honed for generations.
