Update on anarchist prisoner Eric King, who has now been transferred to USP Lee in Jonesville, Virginia.
Eric King has just arrived at USP Lee in Virginia. He cannot receive books, but please send him a letter of support.[...] It is imperative that we put pressure on the Bureau of Prisons and notify U.S. Senators and Congressional Reps about this today. Please urge the BOP to redesignate Eric to a low or medium security prison ASAP. They are already aware of threats made by white supremacists and long-term placement in the SHU is not an acceptable alternative to going into general population at USP Lee and being attacked by white supremacists. Please make calls, send faxes and emails today to help keep Eric safe.

Hello friends,
This is a group message to let everyone know that I ended my short vow of silence after a week.
In other news the cops are still executing black men in the streets, and getting caught on camera doing it.

Call-in campaign in support of anarchist prisoner Eric King continues.
As of this morning, Eric is still at USP Atlanta and en route to maximum security USP Lee in Virginia despite being threatened there by white supremacists. The Bureau of Prisons on every level is aware of this risk and is sticking to the “inmate must be returned to the parent institution’ narrative.

Eric King is an anarchist prisoner who was arrested in September 2014 after he carried out a solidarity action to support the Ferguson Uprising. We speak again today with his lawyer, Lauren Regan, about the harsh violence and repression he has faced in prison, culminating in trumped-up charges of assaulting a guard, charges which he just defeated in court. In further retaliation for his court victory, he is now being moved to a maximum-security facility with only two years left on his sentence. This week, Regan describes the recent incident of abuse King suffered at the hands of guards. She tells the story of the trial itself, highlighting the pattern of guards closing ranks in moments like this. Regan points to the broader picture of what motivates guards to lie, and what makes people often want to believe authority figures instead of their peers.

Eric King was COVID swabbed by guards at Grady County Jail in Oklahoma on the afternoon of April 13th, meaning imminent transfer to a federal prison. Eric has been told he’s designated for maximum security USP Lee in Virginia despite being threatened there by white supremacists and BOP KNOWING of this risk, but ultimately we will only know where he lands once he gets there…

Denver, CO — On March 18th, a jury acquitted anti-racist and anti-fascist political prisoner Eric King on the count of “assaulting” a federal officer. CLDC is overjoyed at the return of a not guilty verdict from the jury. After hearing hours of compelling testimony from King himself, the jurors were rightly convinced of his constitutionally protected rights to defend himself against threat of death or bodily injury, even when that threat came from a corrections officer at the Bureau of Prisons.

Full title: Eric King Faces Retaliation and Bullying from Bureau of Prisons as He Takes the Stand to Defend Himself
On day three of the trial of political prisoner Eric King, it came to light that the cell he is being held in at FCI Englewood was flooded, destroying his personal property and legal documents. Attorney Sarah Alvarez, a member of King’s legal defense team, relayed to presiding Judge Martinez that the corrections officers at the facility communicated to Mr. King that they had observed a bird fly into his cell, a guard had to chase it, and somehow toilet paper ended up in the slightly leaking sink, causing the flood damage. Judge Martinez made a statement to the court that he had never seen such issues in all his years on the bench and that it is far reaching to say it was not intentional on the part of the Bureau. “Now a bird is being blamed? The BOP is setting itself up for a civil lawsuit,” Judge Martinez noted.
