Welcome to Father Frost against Putin 2023 -festival 6th-7th of January!

Father Frost against Putin festival picture

Father Frost against Putin has gathered together Finnish and Russian grassroots activists since 2014, being organised altogether 7 times, last time in 2020. Organising the festival has become increasingly difficult, due to unprecedented levels of repression in Russia, and the Finnish visa restrictions also hitting the Russian opposition against Putin. Despite all these challenges, we are once again inviting Russian activists to come to Finland, and we may also provide help with applying visas. But as there are no guarantees that visas will be granted, we will provide more opportunities for participation from a distance.

Anarchists in the CNT Congress

"There's even bald people in the CNT." [Picture note in the original text]

From A las barricadas by Acratosaurio rex, English translation by Anarchist News

I think anarchists, before resorting to gathering for the sake of gathering, which is like an ethnic and very prehistoric thing (searching for anarchists just because they’re anarchists), should make an analysis of their local reality, look for a concrete objective (susceptible to broadening and modifying), and based on that, look for people with common interests to launch the attack.

Fuck the Queen – here’s King Mob

Go there! Have fun! Tell us how it was!

Autonomous London defies national obsession with dead lizard

On this most special day of the anarcho-calendar, we must say in unison: fuck the Queen, long live King Mob! This weekend the autonomous movement of the Untied Krimdom came together to show the State that anarchy is alive, organized and fucking having it. In defiance of the national passion for monarchist bootlicking and despite the ultimate mega queue of grieving swan-fuckers, Anarcho-Xmas aka the Anarchist Bookfair in London took place across 4 offical venues and 3 more fringe events. Reports estimate attendance by more than 2000 people who had travelled from across the world to celebrate the most significant event of the anarchist calender.

Father Frost Against is now Feast After Plague

TAZ!

From avtonom.org

Festival will be organised in Helsinki from 11th to 14th of June.
The modern situation requires a change in the aesthetic and conceptual forms of expressing the real. Another incentive to rethink representation and tactics was the pandemic and macro-political vulnerability, rallies and waves of new political repression in Russia and Belarus, which affected all aspects of our life. After the worldwide "apocalypse", we will meet under a new slogan - "Feast After the Plague".

From Avtonom, Finland

Please note that because of border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will most likely be postponed to the spring or summer of 2021, and held under a different name. The new festival date will be announced no later than December 1. On December 1, we will share information about how to apply for a Finnish visa and crossing the border.

As of now: From 7 to 9 of January, in Helsinki, the annual cultural and political festival "Father Frost against" will take place. Here, on a politically neutral territory, we together (organizers / participants / guests) will create a temporary autonomous zone free from hierarchical forms of interaction and discrimination. The festival is organized by local activists, as well as participants from various horizontal initiatives, libertarian, left-oriented and anarchist communities in Russia and the post-Soviet area.
