Stay at Fucking Home

Stay at Fucking Home

From Freedom News UK

I have been at home for 12 days. I live with someone vulnerable and we have been isolating ourselves as best we can since I realised that going to work wasn’t worth the risk anymore.

Today we went for a drive, never getting out of the car, just driving around with the windows closed looking out at the world we’ve had to give up for a while. It was full of people. They were everywhere wandering around the streets, hanging out in the park and generally acting like there isn’t a pandemic happening. Even though I’ve seen pictures online of busy markets and high streets and parks full of picnics I was still shocked. And then upset. And then furious.

I often seek solace at the Brotherhood Church.

This may sound like an odd statement for an anarchist, but — despite its name — I am not referring to some religious cult or new-age retreat. I am talking about a Tolstoy-inspired, anarchist commune which has stood in defiance of authoritarianism, ecological decline and warfare for the best part of 100 years. It is an incredibly diverse ecological paradise, which meets the needs of people and wildlife alike. As an urban farmer, it never fails to inspire and enlighten me.

If you know, then you know. They be slanging DOPE in Angel Alley.

Sliding up past Whitechapel Gallery like a needle to a vein, people come for two kinds. One of them they smoke in foil wraps with dragon flame lighters.

The other they give out at the anarchist bookshop, targeting kids, prisoners and homeless people.

It’s handed out in plastic bags for free, 10 hits at a time, in solidarity with the homeless to sell at £3 a hit to make what they can for food, clothes, shelter.

Callout for organising the Anarchist Festival 2019

From Freedom News UK

Following the success of last year’s decentralised anarchist festival, we’re going to do it again, but this time with events not just in London, but across the UK and Ireland.

The idea is simple: groups and venues put on their own programme of anarchist events, centred around the long weekend of 31st May to the 2nd June 2019. The programme is collated by us on our website and social media.
