Part IV: In Defense of Anarchist “Sectarianism”

From Anarquia, translated by Act for freedom Now!

Note of ANARQUÍA: This is the fourth part of a series of articles by comrade Gustavo Rodriguez, in response to the critiques of Marxism and some anarchist individualities, who seek revolutionary unity and label those of us who do NOT forget the objective and the path we must create for anarchy as a sect.

In Defense of Associative Specificity

from Anarquía, English translation by Anarchist News.

by Gustavo Rodríguez

Since the defeat of Spanish anarcho-syndicalism, reiteration is a frequent ocurrence in the Babellian context in which the life of the so-called "anarchist movement" painfully takes place. As if it were "Groundhog Day", we are condemned to repeat the same experience indefinitely. Time and again, the ideological displacements and the conceptualizations of others gain presence in our camp. Thus - again - the notions of "sect", "sectarianism" and "sectarian" emerge in the debate. We don’t have the slightest chance of escaping from this vicious cycle. Like Phil Connors (Bill Murray) in the famous comedy, every day the same song is hammered into us (at six in the morning!), forced to repeat ourselves in an infinite cycle from which not even suicide saves us.

Against the Tide

from Anarquía

Contrary to what all the verbal diarrhea of post-modern neo-Leninism claims about the so-called «social movements», the novelty of these movements does not lie in the replacement of trade unions and traditional political parties, but in the motivational structure of the subjects involved; That is, in the convergence of perceptions around multiple factors (economic-socio-cultural) that nourish the collective longing for the welfare state and the labor society and, through processes of social mobilization, constitute a new institutional force that serves as a platform for the different fascisms -whether black, brown, red or whatever color they are given in order to persuade the «masses»- and paves the way for populist leaders.

About the Statement of the Libertarian Workshop Alfredo López in Havana

from A las barricadas, English translation by Anarchist News

by Octavio Alberola

Due to serious health reasons in my family environment, I was unable to comment on the recent Statement of the comrades of the Alfredo López Libertarian Workshop in Havana nor to the reaction of comrade Gustavo Rodriguez. I do so today because I consider it urgent to manifest that solidarity between colleagues should not impede criticism, if it is considered to be well founded; but also that it must stem from the (libertarian/anarchic) right to have a discrepancy in a fraternal debate and of mutual respect.

Interview: Gustavo Rodríguez Pt.1

from Contra Info, translated by Anarchist News

Contrainfo: dialogue / interview with comrade Gustavo Rodríguez (First part).

With the urge to dialogue about Anarchy in our days, from ContraInfo (C.I.), blog we were self-motivated to conduct an interview with comrade Gustavo Rodríguez (G.R.), motivated by the recent international call for solidarity with the anarchists who continue to fight against punitive society behind prison bars, breaking the imposed normality. Comrade Rodríguez, has made countless contributions to insurrectional and informal anarchism and to the so-called contemporary illegalism, highlighting the sharp analysis of his latest contributions to the ongoing debate on the "new normal" imposed by "Cyber Leviathan."
