To My Critics: My Own Peculiar Albatross

From Bellamy Fitzpatrick dot com by Bellamy Fitzpatrick

Under different circumstances, I would not have brought this issue up so early in my blog, and perhaps would never have brought it up, but the recent mention of me on The Solecast has made me think it is necessary to lay this issue to rest once and for all. My hope is that I will never have to comment on it again, but will be able to reference this blog entry and the podcast links associated with it to any and all future critics.

Done In From Within: An Intemperate Review by John Zerzan

by John Zerzan
All the leftist parties in the West took sides in the four-year industrial slaughterhouse of World War I. Leading anarchist Peter Kropotkin also supported it.

Emma Goldman was deported to Russia in 1919 and remained there until 1921. She was a partisan of the Bolsheviks' take-over of the revolution even after Lenin told her he had no intention of altering his policy of murdering and imprisoning anarchists. It was not until Lenin and Trotsky massacred the insurgent sailors and anarchists of the Kronstadt naval base in 1921 that she finally broke with the red fascist Bolsheviks.

From the Whiteaker to the Woods: The Rise of the “Eugene Anarchists,” Part 1

From It's Going Down

In this episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, we again return to the topic of the 1990’s, this time in a two part series that will center on the green anarchist and eco-defense movement in Eugene, Oregon. In the first part of the series, we talk with long-time anarchist John Zerzan, and in the second part, we will talk with a member of Cascadia Forest Defense. Born into a working class family, John soon found himself in the strange land of Stanford University, and quickly dove into the radical politics of the 1960s. Originally working as a union organizer, John soon became interested in the ultra-left, the Situationists, and the rioting that was breaking out in Berkeley over the weekends while living in the bay area.
