Suggested tactical improvements – a response to Some Anarchists letter

From Rose City Counter-Info

I reviewed the Rose city counter info blog post from Some Anarchist. I’d like to offer a Clearer Argument (based on Some Anarchists piece). Some points out that protests at the ICE office have become stuck in a loop: people show up, clash with feds, leave, and repeat. This has not shut ICE down or shifted power. To move forward, she argues, we need to change tactics.

A Public Letter Regarding Some Impasses in Portland

From Rose City Counter-Info

My dearest brambles,
Regarding the ICE ERO Field Office: we know the air there, thick with rot.
Each night, a handful wait until the kitted-out feds kick their asses,
then limp away, to try again,
as if only repetition is the ritual needed to conjure change.
A valiant rite,
yet the building still hums with its cruel machinery.

Lessons from the Sudanese resistance committees

The Sudanese working class have always stood and fought for their freedom, from the multi-century struggle against British, Ottoman and Egyptian imperialism to the ongoing struggle against the neocolonialism of the UAE. In recent history, the Sudanese working class have come together to topple dictatorship after dictatorship. October 1964: Ibrahim Abbud’s regime was brought down by a general strike. 1985: Muhammad Numeiri’s dictatorship felt the same fate following years of industrial action across many sectors, often tied together with the student movement.

Workers Solidarity Movement closing statement

From Workers Solidarity Movement, March 6, 2023

This is the promised detailed analysis of the end of the WSM following on from our very brief announcement of December 7th, 2021 titled 'WSM has come to an end - we look forward to new anarchist beginnings'.Developed over a couple of dozen meeting since it outlines our collective reflections on why we have taken this decision. It outlines the WSM’s achievements, the challenges we have encountered, and the lessons we feel can be drawn for the future.  We are writing for our comrades, friends and supporters who have worked with the WSM in the past. We are also writing for fellow anarchists internationally and all those who struggle in our social movements and wish to see a world without bosses. We hope this statement will be useful to those who wish to start new conversations and discussions about the kinds of movements and organisations we need to win

TOTW: "Learning your history"

Every few years, it seems, a chain of events occurs that leads to an uptick in people calling themselves anarchists (surely still outdone by the number of people who stop calling themselves such). The remaining anarcho-curious (the few, the proud) finally take the plunge, hoist the black flag, download Signal, and assume their rightful pseudonym.
