The leftists breaking the right’s chokehold on MMA

From Freedom News UK

October 11th, 2020. A bus pulls up outside of the Tampa Bay Convention Centre in Florida, USA. Of the suited delegates and bodyguards that emerge, one person cuts an unfamiliar figure. UFC star Jorge Masvidal, decked out in a black and gold tracksuit, walks around the side of the bus to stand in front of a large piece of text printed on the side: “Fighters Against Socialism,” it reads.

The Center Takes the Empire: Peter Gelderloos on the Path Ahead

from It's Going Down

On this episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, we speak with long-time anarchist writer and organizer Peter Gelderloos, author of such books at Anarchy Works, Worshiping Power, and How Non-Violence Protects the State. On this episode, we look back on the last month of the Trump presidency and discuss what lies ahead now that the Democrats have won the White House and pushed for a return to normalcy on the streets. We discuss how Biden will respond to the far-Right, the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the continuing economic fallout.

Climate, Capitalism, and Class War with Noam Chomsky

The Commoner

In December, Søren Hough from Science for the People sat down with the famous linguist and activist Noam Chomsky. Chomsky has written a plethora of books on political subjects, with his collection of interviews, named On Anarchism, reaching stores worldwide. His most recent book, Climate Crisis and the Global Green New Deal, co-authored with economist Dr. Robert Pollins, lays out an international plan for addressing climate change.

Examining the pro-state problem of American anarchists

from Rhyd Wildermuth

For any anti-capitalist and anti-state leftist who has been in this thing for longer than a decade, the last few days of social media has been kind of a trip. In only my short self-imposed allotment of weekly social media time (90 minutes, up from a fasting diet of only 30 minutes a week), I’ve encountered more apparent insanity than I think I had in the last six months, all of it about the “terrorists” and “fascist threat” of the idiots who interrupted congress last week.

Why We Need Real Anarchy

From CrimethInc.

Don’t Let Trump’s Minions Gentrify Revolt

Politicians have come together across the aisle to decry the storming of the Capitol on January 6 as “lawless,” “anti-democratic,” and “extremist,” going so far as to misrepresent the result as “anarchy.” But the problem with the invasion of the Capitol was not that it was unlawful, undemocratic, or extremist, per se, but that it was an effort to concentrate oppressive power in the hands of an autocrat—which is precisely the opposite of anarchy. Direct action, militant tactics, and a critique of electoral politics will remain essential to movements against fascism and state violence. We must not let the far right associate them with tyranny, nor permit centrists to muddy the waters.

How the left is handing over protest to fascism

from Barcelona Indymedia. Translated by Enough 14.

Madrid: The dystopia beyond the corona virus – or how the left is handing over protest to fascism

How to “Doom” Anarchism: A Response to Dakota Hensley

A response to "The Conservative Anarchist".

Can there be such a thing as a “conservative anarchist?” Yes, as is true of any broad political label – socialist, democrat, libertarian, the list grows longer every day as the far right tries to appropriate the language of other tendencies. Ultimately, one can identify with whatever values they want, this is the foundation of many views I hold.

TOTW: "The Boogaloo"

A couple of months ago, we spoke of civil war, not as passive spectators, but asking what if anarchists could be its main agitators. That hypothetical turning point seems to be foisted upon us. Recently, "professional anarchists" and "ANTIFA"tm have been accused of being "outside agitators" and the "terrorist" protagonists in the ongoing riots. Without denying our pedigree, we acknowledge that this time around our supposed role as protagonists is an exaggeration by the media and the government, as scaremongering and scapegoating tactics. So let's give credit where it's due: meet The Boogaloo.

No-Wing Anarchy

I am told that anarchism is a “left wing” ideology, by many. I am not sure those who claim this understand the true meaning of the term.

The terms “left wing” and “right wing” come from the position of seated delegates during the French Revolution. The bourgeoisie would sit to the left, and the monarchists would sit to the right. The first leftists were, in fact, capitalists.
