This May Day was marked by everything form mass wildcat strikes by teachers across South Carolina, demonstrations against ICE in Portland, a noise demo outside of a jail in New York, student occupations and walkouts in Baltimore, New York, and Portland, and also clashes with the far-Right in Portland and New York. Anarchists, wobblies, and autonomous anti-capitalists of many stripes also held benefit events, BBQs, and participated in larger marches across the so-called US.

May Day in Helsinki: against authority, fascism and capitalism!

On 1st of May , 2019, a memorable rally and traditional demonstration of left-wing organizations and parties of the country were held in Helsinki. Anti-fascists, anarchists and left-wing activists organized separated revolutionary anti-fascist anti-capitalist bloc and passed through all the city. At 9 am a memorial rally was held near the monument to the fallen soldiers of the Finnish Red Guard, workers who died in concentration camps organized by nationalists and white guards in 1918-1919. Anarchists and anti-fascists raised black and red flags and laid flowers as a sign of memory and solidarity with the revolutionaries of past eras.

In Turin and Trento, 14 people are accused of forming a subversive association, inciting crime, and possessing, manufacturing and transporting explosives to a public place. Furthermore, the operation “Scripta Manent”, where the public prosecutor’s office demands a total of 204 years in prison for the attacks of the Informal Anarchist Federation and the operation “Panico”, where 3 comrades are accused of having attacked a fascist library with an explosive device, is still running.
