reportback
Report the Back, on the Seattle Anarchist Bookfair, annum 2023
Report the Back, wherein our heras brave the unknown, discover new and familiar faces, and dispense and receive tomes and witticisms
This report back is very partial as your guide did not themself attend any of the workshops, content to lurk behind books and zines, occasionally emerging only enough to thrust a text at someone who lingered too long or looked too inquisitive. Perhaps workshop goers will add their efforts in the comments below, so that we may all gain from their perspicacity.

All in all, we did over 100 presentations at 70 different events, including an 8,000-person electronic music festival, a buddhist temple, bookstores, occupations, street parties, community centres, conferences, cafes, protests and 12 different schools, from middle schools to universities in Aotearoa, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea and Japan.

A Report Back – Dual Power Gathering West
From Sabot Media

You find yourself in the middle of the woods, surrounded by the hum of anarchists chatting and the enticing smell of curry and campfire. Without your headlamp, you can’t see anything except the stars through the tree tops. Your cell phone hasn’t gone off in days. You are somewhere special, and everyone here knows it. What’s happening here, what you all are co-creating, it will ripple out from here in many profound ways you have yet to fully realize. But you feel that potential in your bones. You all do.
Balkan Anarchist Bookfair, Ljubljana 2023: a review
From EMRAWI
On the weekend from 7th to 9th of July the bookfair took place in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. In the context of the Balkans, it is inevitable to speak about war and its devastating consequences. It would have been chance to listen to experiences from groups and individuals from this geographical and cultural space, extrapolate an analysis to contemporary events and push an open debate. This chance has been not only missed, but was actively sabotaged by the organising committee.

One hundred and fifty years after Bakunin’s anarchist international, the same small town in the valley separating the Jura Mountains from Bern once again hosted thousands of anarchists and anti-authoritarians from all over the world for four days of events and discussions.
