End of trial & final declarations of Francisco Solar & Mónica Caballero

Via Act for freedom now!

"Finally, I can tell everyone here that I am awaiting the verdict of this court quite calmly, because I know that the ideas of emancipation to which I have devoted a good part of my life transcend myself. Lastly, to those present and to all my comrades here as well as those who hear or read my words later, I can say that till my very last breath, I will always yell: death to the State and long live anarchy!" -Mónica Caballero

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Athens Indymedia via Dark Nights

On Thursday, April 14th, the event of the Anarchist Initiative against State Killings, concerning the case of the anarchist comrade Claudio Lavazza, took place at the ASOEE with a relatively massive presence of comrades. The presentation was read as well as the transcript of an interview Claudio has given about his case and a video was shown concerning the expropriation of a bank in Cordoba and the subsequent confrontation with the police forces where he was arrested. Finally, comments and statements were made by comrades about the connection between Claudio’s experience of struggle, especially the years he participated in the Italian movement, and the present day, and it was decided to call an open assembly to organize a meeting at the French embassy on May 17, the day when the comrade’s appeal against the decision of the bourgeois justice system that forces him to serve another 5 years in prison until he is released will be heard.

Statement by anarchist prisoner Thanos Chatziaggelou

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Athens Indymedia

Today I will focus on the deep meaning of Justice. As long as the rightfulness of this world is captive of the international and local elite, the struggling proletariat basis is historically doomed to a perpetual slaughter in the name of fascist interests of capitalism and imperialism. We are continuously facing our doom as long as justice is hidden behind the wars caused by translational antagonisms, financial dictatorship of banking monopolies or behind the blood-soaked flags of terrorist coalitions such as NATO and EU.

International Anarchist Statement on May Day

the struggle is real, now get back to work comrade!

From zabalaza dot net

The ZACF is pleased to co-sign this statement along with anarchist groups around the world to commemorate May Day.

May 1st, 1886, a wide-ranging strike started in the United States demanding an eight-hour working day. The journey’s slogan was “Eight hours’ labour, Eight hours’ recreation, Eight hours’ rest”, propagandised since the mid-19th century and through which the labour movement struggled to seize power from Capital and dispute worker’s time for life, culture, and enjoyment.

The strike was prepared in advance. The American labour movement decided on it in 1884. To carry it out, hundreds of meetings and rallies were held, funds were collected, at times when union organising was illegal. Manifestos and newspapers were circulated encouraging workers to join the planned strike.
