“Feminism Practices What Anarchism Preaches”: Anarcha-Feminism in the 20th Century (Panel Recording)

I recently organized an online panel at the Boston Anarchist Bookfair on November 14th (2021), which was recorded and uploaded to Youtube. My own talk, which begins around 41:20, is titled “‘We’re Pro-Choice and We Riot’: Anarcha-Feminism in Love and Rage (1989-98).” It is based on research and interviews that I have been conducting for my dissertation on North American anarchism in the late 20th century.

VIDEOS FROM THE TRASH DIMENSION Episode 2 is up

A video adaptation of the zine “Defending Our Hoods And Each Other”, an autozone commercial, and a 55 minute video that feels interesting for this series mostly because of the use of video game footage to do narrative with. A weird example of diy video strategy that opens a lot of narrative doors without having to pay for equipment.

Anarchism Around The World

"around the world a-round the wOOrld...around the world a-round the wOOrld..." - Daft Punk, RIP

from activistjourneys.wordpress.com

Below is a series of interviews, recorded for a documentary, never finished by it’s original producers, which hoped to show anarchism in all it’s forms around the world today and in history. But, I think it succeeds even better at that task as a video catalogue for those interested enough to find the clips that peak their curiousity.

from Antimídia via Contra Info

In different parts of the colonized territories, there's been tearing down, demolishing or destruction of statues of slavers, rapists, colonizers and genociders. Why let go of these symbols? What do they represent? And what values keeps them standing?

Iran: The Uprising of the Thirsty

from sub.media

On July 15th 2021, people took to the streets in the Iranian province of Khouzestan to protest against the lack of water due to government mismanagement. Since then, despite the Iranian state’s brutal repression, the uprising has spread all over the country.

This was a collaboration with The Federation of Anarchism Era & Antimidia.

Edinburgh Anarchist Feminist Bookfair: Recording of “Jewish Anarchists” Panel

On Sunday, May 30, I was joined by the lovely mensch and brilliant contributors to my latest edited anthology, There Is Nothing So Whole as a Broken Heart: Mending the World as Jewish Anarchists (AK Press, with design by Crisis studio) for a workshop at the, alas, online version of the Edinburgh Anarchist Feminist (yes, feminist!) Bookfair!
