Anarchist comrades Juan, Nataly and Guillermo were arrested in Santiago on September 18th 2014.

Dear comrades (and all my enemies):
I am a 57 year old African/native/Mexican grandfather and revolutionary. Just like my great grandfather Luis who fought with Ponce Villa during the Mexican Revolution. (In fact, I may be him reincarnated, who knows.) But it doesn’t matter who I am. I considered myself an ex-U.S. Navy vet but now I’ve been labeled an anarchist arsonist. What is in a lame ass name? I’ve been called worse. I am currently residing here at California State Prison at Solano in the cowshit smelling town of Vacaville, California for 10 years, 8 months for arson when I set fire to the city attorney office in Santa Cruz, California basically for their over-zealous prosecution and repression of the homeless and the poor. But it is much more than just that. I’ve been rebelling the fucking system all my adult life. I am a Rebel and a pirate. The latter I am now not so proud about but like a leopard I cannot change the fact and the reality. The system made me into the lean, mean revolutionary machine that I am still today. It is my fate and/or destiny to foment revolution by any and every means necessary.

Letter from Prisoner Emma Sheppard, March 2015 – Prisons do not work for anyone – except those who profit from them.

Last night I saw the moon and a star. It was the first time in a long-time. It made me think of all my friends, old and new,and wonder what they were doing under its glow. I feel so lucky to be part of a wide network of people. Anything seems possible when you know you have support. But whilst these thoughts make prison bearable, I will never forget the violence of the system.

Wildfire: An Anarchist Prison Newsletter

From Wildfire:

[Download Issue #1] (Prints 8.5×11)

We’re excited to announce the first issue of Wildfire, a new quarterly newsletter of anarchist prison struggle.

We have two goals with this project: to spread the words and actions of anarchist prisoners in the United States and to offer news and updates on anti-authoritarian struggle for comrades in prison who might not otherwise have access to this information.

Wildfire flows with our continued frustration with the state of anarchist prison solidarity in the United States: the lack of prisoners’ voices in our publications, the half-hearted solidarity shown toward captured fighters, the dead-end of “political prisoner” designation. It also flows from our long-term relationships with imprisoned comrades, the mutual affinity found in struggling together. Rather than complain and critique, we prefer to strike out in another direction, embodying our own vision of solidarity. We hope this publication can be a contribution to a more diverse, more combative, and stronger anarchist struggle against prison.

Solidarity Statement from the Inside: “Keep the Struggle Alive!”

To all those still keeping the fire alive, my name is Dante Cano.

I was arrested by the pigs on Friday the 13th, at a march “Against the Police State.” It was an international call-out against militarization of the pigs and police repression towards black lives in so-called “America.”

I was also out there that night for all those killed in racist murders and the killing of a woman that was shot by the Emeryville police outside of Home Depot.
