Okay Humans, What’s the Fucking Point?! Eco-Absurdism: Absurdism as Environmentalism

Before I start this, I would like to conclude. I will conclude this by stating that, rather than a political program, ideology, strategy or theory, eco-absurdism is really just a feeling. What type of feeling? Well, one that can really be best articulated verbally in the question “okay humans, what is the fucking point?”. I am going to present some arguments, theories and thoughts around this feeling and the question, but as far grasping this conceptual term that I am presenting you with, you don’t need to worry – any more than the sense of worry/or impending doom you already have.

The inherent existential element in anarchism

From El Libertario, By Tomás Ibáñez

If anarchism values diversity, it can't surprise us that it be plural, diverse, polymorph, and it is to such a degree that it becomes more appropriate to speak of “anarchisms” than anarchism. From anarcho-communism, to individualism, from insurrectionalism, up to anarcho-feminism, passing by neo-anarchism by post-anarchism among others… such are the leafy branches of the diversity of anarchism.

Sartre's Anarchist Philosophy

despair!

Is Existentialism closer to Anarchism than Marxism?

Every philosopher must run the gauntlet of time. Philosophical ideas fall in and out of favor, but the acid test is whether we continue to debate a philosopher’s ideas long after they have left the scene. The anniversary of Jean-Paul Sartre’s birthday, almost forty years since his death, is an appropriate moment to look back on the legacy of a philosopher whose work helped to define an era, and whose ideas continue to resonate with the political climate today. Professor Richard Falk places Sartre alongside Noam Chomsky and Edward Said as one of the few individuals worthy of the title ‘public intellectual’. Yet towards the end of his life, even as Sartre moved further in the direction of political engagement, he lamented that his politics were not radical enough; perhaps that is why Sartre’s political philosophy is so highly disputed.
