From Wildcat Anarchist Fair

Back by popular demand! Bosses beware, it’s Wildcat Fair! Sydney’s favourite anarchist fair is returning on the 8th of July 2025.

Wildcat Anarchist Fair takes place on the unceded lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people. It is a space for community organisers, artists, and activists to come together, exchange ideas, learn about each others’ work, and build relationships.

We invite all community groups, projects, and individuals who are working for social and environmental justice to apply for a table. We hope that this event continues to bring together those of us who are building a new world in the shell of the old.

When & Where:
10am – 4pm, Sunday 8th June 2025
Gumbramorra Hall, Addison Road Community Center
1/142 Addison Rd, Marrickville NSW 2204

This event takes place on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people. Their lands were stolen, but their sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

Safer Spaces

Wildcat Anarchist Fair is an antifascist, anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian & anti-colonial event. All forms of bigotry, including misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism & classism will not be tolerated. Any attendees violating these values will be asked to leave. If you feel unsafe, feel free to approach an organiser.

Apply for a table

Sydney’s favourite anarchist fair is returning on the 8th of June 2025, and we need your help to make it as exciting, educational and provocative as possible. Applications are now open for stalls, and we are encouraging all collectives, orgs and crews to apply. We’re looking for activists, artists, educators, rabble-rousers and rebels of all stripes.

Wildcat Anarchist Fair is an opportunity for newcomers to learn about anarchism, for activists and orgs to network with each other, and for fellow-travellers to find likeminded people. If that sounds like you, then come on through.

Applications close on the 11th of May, but please don’t wait until then to submit yours, apply now!

Are they gonna let Gadigal and Wangal people do whatever they want there, or...?

I bet if Israeli anarchists started having fairs opening with "this is taking place on the stolen land of the Palestinian people" some of these same Aussies would mock them.

You're saying that 1) Israeli anarchists are having events like the one I described, 2) they're opening with land acknowledgments, 3) Australian anarchists are aware & not mocking them? Because that's how I'd lose that bet.

Making a land acknowledgement is a statement of values.
It is an argument for the improvement of the conditions of the indigenous population.

How is that a bad thing?

If Israelis were to do the same thing it would be a step in the right direction.
At the very least an increased number of Israelis would learn or understand the circumstances in which they occupy Palestinian land.
