We Can Block the Wall!

On February 15, we call for a movement from below. It is time to act courageously—together. We need a bold, positive vision of the future in contrast to Trump’s white supremacist fantasy. We need to create a world in which people can move freely, where families can find refuge from danger, and communities are brave enough to welcome newcomers and create a shared sense of belonging.

Updates and Tabler Lineup for Green Scare Anarchist Bookfair May 11-12th Boyceville, Wi

When we first put the call out for table submissions we were overwhelmed. It is good to see so many people were interested in tabling this event. Many didn't get back to us in time before others confirmed. But here is the good news: (unless we get locked up or some shit like that) we doin' this event again next year! Anyone who didn't make it this year and still interested will get first pick for next year. So here is the official lineup!

From The Russian Reader February 12, 2019

Azat Miftakhov, a mathematics and mechanics graduate student at Moscow State University, has been remanded in custody until March 7, 2019

Golovina District Court Judge Sergei Bazarov has remanded Azat Miftakhov in custody for a month, until March 7, at the request of police investigators. The police suspect Miftakhov of involvement in a January 13, 2018, incident in which a window in the Khovrino office of the United Russia party was broken and a smoke bomb was thrown inside.

Russia: Tortured anarchist detained again for ‘hooliganism’

A Moscow court yesterday denied bail to Azat Miftakhov on the charge, which has seemingly been brought because the State was unable to justify earlier terror-related allegations.

Initially grabbed by police on suspicion of being a bomb-maker on February 1st, Azat was released a week later after a violent interrogation failed to make him confess, but immediately detained again on lesser charges.

Italy – Issue 3 (winter 2019) of the anarchist paper ‘Vetriolo’ is out . EN/IT

From Act for Freedom!

This is the fourth issue of ‘Vetriolo’. Four issues are certainly not a few for a publication such as this. Rather than accumulate and reinforce certitudes, we believe the paper has tried to corrode and crush them, as it posed new doubts and nourished old questions. Certainly not out of a mere taste for rhetoric or polemics, but because we think that there are always a lot of ‘knots to be untied’.

UPDATE Eric King 2/12/2019

From Support Eric King

Update 2/12/2019

We received an update regarding his disciplinary hearing. We think it is important to share Eric’s words rather than us try to explain the trauma that is involved in these hearings. As of right now communication is still restricted between Eric and his partner. Eric has filed a grievance and then two appeals to the grievance. Both times asking why the contact is restricted and to remove the restrictions. The response to each was that they already told him and that he said he understood. If they did indeed tell him (they didn’t) then why should they have a problem informing him and his lawyer again. It is shady business as usual at USP Leavenworth and the BOP regional office.

Anti-Fascist Struggle in Europe and Repression in Russia

From The Final Straw Radio

This week, we feature two segments on the show: an interview with a Russian anarchist about the recent ramping up of torture and repression by the FSB in Russia against anarchists and anti-fascists (00:14:13); and a chat with Patrick Strickland, author of “Alerta! Alerta!: Snapshots of Europe’s Anti-Fascist Struggle” (00:34:17); plus anarchist prisoner Sean Swain on his bid to “Build The Wall” (00:08:27)

Opening Editorial, Wild Resistance no 6: Kevin Tucker

From Wild Resistance no 6, Winter 2019.
January 21, 2019

I’ve opened nearly all of the previous five issues of this journal with an unintentional, yet persistent theme: our world, the world that civilization has created and recreated, is shifting.

Politically, socially, ecologically: not only is the climate shifting towards instability and unpredictability, social and political climates are as well. It is no longer a question about whether or not we are off the rails, but how far off we are and what damage will be done in the crash. The events of our world seem to unfold in the chaotic outpouring of feedback loops created by the real time updates fed into devices that are meant to keep our attention. Devices meant to keep us from looking up.

My Intercourse! How We Have it, Who We Do it With: FRR Books Podcast the Stirner Series Episode VII

In episode VII of the Stirner Series we cover the second 50 pages of the chapter My Intercourse. In this episode Keehar, Big Cat, and rydra wrong discuss all things Stirner. We delve deeper into Stirner’s ideas and how they relate to our own lives. Some people have wondered what the purpose of this project is. The answer is simple: we are a group of friends who enjoy reading, talking, fighting, and laughing about books we like. If that isn’t of interest to you, then we probably wouldn’t get along very well if we met in the meat space. We do this project for ourselves, but we share it for our glory and because fuck, why not!

TOTW: let's try this again, on criticism

First off, I really like good criticism. To me it a sign of someone paying attention and thinking something through. Of course, really, a good compliment can be that too, but even thoughtful, articulate compliments have to get through the fog of "people are just nice," "it's only acceptable to say something kind," etc., so they're more likely to miss that sweet spot of good feedback, when the person receiving it has to step back and think about things (at least a little) differently.

The 2019 UK Anarchist Bookfairs List

Several bookfair organising groups have been pretty efficient with sending in details of their events early this year, so we can now put together the initial showing of Freedom’s annual roundup [for previous, see 2017|2018]. It’s sparse for now but never fear, more shall be showing up. We update this list through the year as more information comes in, so keep an eye out for announcements!

Derry being a January affair we have missed it here, but as ever it was a great day out and pulled in good crowds, according to the organisers.

What's new with LBC - Winter 2019

From Little Black Cart

Welcome to the quarterly newsletter of Little Black Cart. (It is a little late this quarter because we were waiting on an external printer who was rather late with some bad news.) We distribute anarchist anti-political books, pamphlets, and newspapers. This quarter we have a new book that we are rather proud of (it was put together by Aragorn!), and the annual BASTARD conference journal.
